To drum up interest in Flex 3 and Air, Adobe is going on a road trip to 40 cities within the USA to promote Flex to the community. Orlando has been chosen as one of these locations for the Adobe's Flex 3/Air Pre-Release Tour! They'll be coming through Orlando on Monday, January 21, 2008 where Ben Forta will be presenting. The meeting presentation will start around 7pm, with the half hour before going towards networking, food and drinks.

Flex? Air?
Although Flex and Air are still relatively new technologies, they have made a huge splash on the community and are becomming the de-facto standard for rich internet applications due to their ease of development. Flex is an xml, tag based programming language that compiles down to a swf like any other flash application. Air is entirely new runtime for the desktop that allows users to write programs in html, css, javascript or Flex and package them as ".air" files that users with the Air Runtime can then install.
